How do I add instruments or a backing band to my vocals?

Open the Instruments panel and choose a style, key, scale, tempo, time signature and chord progression. IchiPitchy generates drums, bass, keys, guitars, strings, winds and more from it — 50 instruments in total — and each one lands on its own mixer track so you can balance it against your vocal.

Can I change the key or pitch of a whole song online?

You can transpose the generated backing band to any key from the chord chart, and retune a vocal note by note or by snapping it to a new scale. IchiPitchy is built around vocal pitch editing rather than whole-mix pitch shifting, so the cleanest route for a full song is to separate the stems first.

Does IchiPitchy upload my audio anywhere, and is it private?

Is the backing band AI-generated?

No. The parts are built with rule-based music theory from the style, key, meter, groove and chord progression you choose, not by a generative AI model. The same settings always produce the same take, and you can reroll for a different one.

Which time signatures are supported?

Simple and compound meters including 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 2/2, 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8, plus irregular and additive meters such as 5/4, 5/8, 7/8, 9/8 daichovo and 11/8 kopanitsa. Each meter has drum grooves written specifically for it.

Can I use chords outside the key, like a major V in a minor key?

Yes. The chord editor is not limited to the seven diatonic chords — secondary dominants, borrowed and modal-interchange chords, and 7th, 9th, sus and power chords are all available. Every chord can also have its own length, so one bar can hold a single chord while the next splits in two.

Can I mix multiple tracks online?

Yes. The Mixer is a multitrack timeline with per-track volume, pan, mute, solo and an effects rack that matches the instrument, plus a master bus with a limiter. You can loop clips, copy and paste clips or whole tracks, and add audio from your computer, from a saved project, or from the Editor.

What audio formats can I upload, and what does it export?

You can upload WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG and WEBM files up to 100 MB. Exports are lossless WAV in 24-bit or 32-bit float, and separated vocal and instrumental stems can be downloaded together as a zip.

Is IchiPitchy a DAW, and does it work on a phone?

It is a focused vocal studio with a multitrack mixer rather than a general-purpose DAW. It is designed for desktop browsers and will warn you on a phone, because pitch editing and mixing need screen space and precise pointer control.
